Training for GO! St. Louis Marathon ramps up
This just in from the folks at GO! St. Louis.
This Saturday, they’ll conduct the first of six free training runs in Forest Park. The training will help participants of all fitness levels train for GO! St. Louis races on the weekend of April 18-19, including a 5K, four-person marathon relay, half-marathon and marathon.
I’ve personally participated in training runs such as these, and they’re a lot of fun. This year, participants will be divided by fitness levels and everyone — even people who don’t plan to run or walk a GO! event in April — is welcome.
Each week, experts from specialty running and fitness stores will talk about proper shoe selection and running attire and experts from the Saint Louis Injury and Rehabilitation Center will address training challenges, discuss stretching techniques and injury prevention. For more info, visit the GO! St. Louis website.
