A few tips to be healthy at work
PeopleJam.com, a website that helps people cope with health and other life issues, has eight tips to prevent your job from wrecking your health. That’s important considering that one piece of chocolate a day, or that half donut or that cream and sugar in your coffee or caffeinated soda can add up to a lot of pounds over a year.
Tip 1: Just say no out loud. Shouting will work, but saying that magic word to yourself helps you back away from temptation.
Tip 2: Bring healthy snacks to work in baggies. Munch on carrot sticks or celery slices, grapes, apple slices, something to satisfy the urge for workplace stress eating.
Tip 3: Make a meal plan for your week. That includes for home adn office. It’s easier to resist temptation when you have a plan.
Tip 4: Talk to your company about placing healthful snacks in the vending machines. When hunger breaks through and you go to grab a candy bar, maybe an apple or string cheese would be better.
Tip 5: Lead a fitness challenge in your office. Companies cooperate most of the time with these, and even throw in prices and incentives such as days off, cash prizes and the like.

I've written exclusively about health since the inception of the Health & Fitness section. I'm an off-road biker, altitude hiker and was into adventure sports until a fall down a Colorado mountain turned my lower back into abstract art. But I'm coming back.
I don’t work in an office. What about the physical laborer? That stuff ain’t exercise, it’s destructive to your entire body.
Ok, I’ll try that.
