Surfing the web during lunch could make you fat
My dad, Vern, always warned me about secretarial spread. I don’t know why he chose those words since women of a certain age and in most careers seem to grow a little broader in the hips. So do men, only they pop out in the mid-section. Decreased metabolism is an equal-opportunity curse when it comes to aging.
According to Real Age, one way to stave off extra pounds is to resist sitting at your desk during lunch, surfing the web. And it’s pretty much for the same reasons that you shouldn’t eat in front of the TV: you’re not paying attention to how much you’re eating and whether you’re full. Duh!
