How To Use the Breath to Meditate and Relieve Stress
St. Louis Post-Dispatch
Anyone who’s taken a yoga class or two — which is most of us — already knows that yoga offers techniques to reduce stress. But it bears repeating. Several years ago, when I took a yoga class, one of the things I took away from it that I still use regularly is a relaxation techinque where you mentally scan your body while lying down to make sure that you’re A) comfortable and B) loosey goosey. You’d be surprised how you can walk around all clenched up, especially your neck and jaws, without realizing it. I usually use the technique when I’m having trouble sleeping, but it’d probably be useful during periods of extreme stress. HowToDoThings.com explains in detail How To Use the Breath to Meditate and Relieve Stress. It’s a similar technique. Read it and sleep. Or at least feel more peacful.

I wonder if this approach can remedy the so called “sub-health” which is a state of being in between health and illness. You are not sick but you are also not feeling 100% normal.

Hi, Elmer:
I don’t know if it can remedy “sub-health,” but I’m 99.9% sure it can’t hurt.
