Fitness Mag’s tips for wellbeing
The October issue of Fitness Magazine offers some tips on general health and
wellbeing. They’re worth a look.
- Remember your Chia Pet? Turns out the seeds of the chia plant – a close cousin of mint – are an antioxidant-packed superfood. Find them at health food stores, and sprinkle on yogurt or cereal.
- Swap your fork for chopsticks. You’ll eat more slowly, because it’s harder to shovel in food.
- A whiff of citrus is an ideal wake-me-up. “It stimulates the area of the brain that makes us feel alert,” says Dr. Alan Hirsch, the neurological director of the Smell and Taste Treatment Research Foundation in Chicago.
- A recent European study suggests that walking backward – instead of the usual direction – can help you problem solve faster and more effectively.
