Actor Will Smith proves that it pays to run

Anyone who questions the benefits of running as a form of fitness should have been in our newsroom today. Will Smith, the actor, was here doing an interview with our film critic, Joe Williams. As he was leaving, he began hugging several employees near the elevator. I noticed this from the far end of the newsroom. Well, you can guess what happened next, I sprinted down the long side aisle in our newsroom just as Will Smith was getting on the elevator, knocking at least one co-worker, Charles Williams, out of the way and yelling that I wanted a hug too. My co-workers say I’m shameless. Yeah? So what. BTW: He was very funny and cute as you can see in the picture of him and me that the incredibly gracious and aforementioned Charles Williams snapped.

It really was great. He was giving lots of hugs and shaking hands. I told him my name is Will Smith, and he said, “Really?” and he laughed.
It was great getting to meet him even just for a minute. A true gentleman.
