Poll: So how long do you want to live?

The second-hottest thing (behind discipline-free weight loss) in research labs and even medical schools is how to live longer.  As we’ve discussed, the best way is taking care of yourself by eating right, exercising and obeying traffic laws.

Now, science is discovering, albeit slowly, that no matter how long you try to live, if you make it past 90 you’re lucky, and don’t even make dinner plans if you’re past 110.

But who wants to make it that long? I just want to make it until I’m no longer who I am, but who knows, when you’re facing eternity, what choice do you make?

How long do you want to live?

It’s ironic that this poll came out today because I was reading where the last Australian World War I veteran died today at age 110. I was actually thinking, “What would it be like to live to 110?” I’m not so sure I’d want to.

I considered the Rapture, but out of 300 million Americans, 144,000 would be statistically inconclusive.
As for ascension, it’s overrated.

Until I find true love. Then, I’ll be ready to go.

As The Band once sang, “I’d rather die happy than not die at all.”

Jesus how dare you steal my thunder! Don’t you know that I am the true Messiah. I come bearing free healthcare for all. What have you done? Died for people’s sins? Well, take the easy way out why don’t you?

Whenever one goes, it shouldnt have to be all alone … there should be assisted suicide, and not just for terminally ill, but for anyone over 80 who’s had all the joy (or pain and sadness) they can handle for one lifetime; and btw, you get to come back and use the lessons you’ve learned in this lifetime in the next one; read Many Lives, Many Masters, Dr. Brian Weiss, Yale MD, brother at Wash U. Choosing to go early is bad karma tho, perhaps except under the most exigent of circumstances; 80 should be ok, tho.
