Face it, with the thousands of how-to and self-help websites, wading through them can be difficult. I like this one because it has a name behind it that’s known for its quality control. It’s worth the look.

Time Inc. the company that runs Time Magazine and is into a lot of other media money-makers, has a website called “MyRecipes.com.” It’s designed to help you take care of your nutrition needs from planning to precautions.

The “about us” button says, “MyRecipes.com features thousands of the best recipes and hundreds of menus from magazines and cookbooks you love and trust–including Cooking Light, Southern Living, Sunset, Coastal Living, Real Simple, and more.” (Guess who publishes those.)

After two years, the site features 33,000 recipes and growing. It also has a way for you to share your recipes.
The site includes, “step-by-step instructions, how-to videos, healthy cuisine and entertaining tips.”
The site suggested sampling a few articles:
“How to Keep Your Kids from Getting Too Fat” discusses childhood obesity in the United States and what you can do to prevent this life-altering condition.
“Are You Getting Ripped Off at the Grocery Store?” features 10 shopping practices that may actually be costing you money.
•  “Can Your Grill Kill You?” highlights tips on grilling safety.
