The onslaught of free seasonal flu shots has started. Agencies throughout the St. Louis area are announcing their free shot programs. These are the seasonal shots, not the H1N1 (swine flu) inoculations.

Here are some early flu shot distributors:
Barnes-Jewish Hospital has started its yearly seasonal flu shots and they’re free. The hospital has 35,000 doses and will distribute them this month at numerous locations. Barnes-Jewish adds that it offers Latex-free doses for people with Latex allergies.

People most at risk:

  • Children 6 months through 18 years of age,
  • Pregnant women,
  • People 50 years of age and older,
  • People of any age with certain chronic medical conditions, and
  • People who live in nursing homes and other long-term care facilities.
