Ralston, Twellman injured

St. Louis Post-Dispatch

The two St. Louis players on the New England Revolution, Steve Ralston and Taylor Twellman, both got hurt in their season openers on Saturday. (Correction: Twellman apparently got hurt in practice late last week, but he wasn’t scratched from the lineup until right before the game on Saturday.) Ralston dislocated his left shoulder and it will be looked at again on Wednesday to determine how long he’ll be out. Twellman will have arthroscopic knee surgery on Wednesday and is expected to be out at least six weeks.

There’s a gap in the U.S. men’s schedule now,  with no matches until late May, so assuming all goes well, Twellman would be available by the time World Cup qualifying begins in June.  Anything longer than six weeks might mean he’s not available for those matches.
