Garber conference call: Expansion framework will be discussed at April owners meeting

On the expansion front, Garber said that it’s not if but when they go from 18 to 20, but they won’t start discussing that until the owners meeting the third week in April. So whether they do it in 2012 or 13 or a later date is up in the air. “We’ll analyze what our opportunities are and what our next steps ought to be,” Garber said.

If he says more, I’ll update.

The famous “it’s not if, it’s when” statement. I just don’t get Garber. He throws comments out there and then he either backtracks or qualifies them or acts like he never said them in the first place. Why did he make the comments about expanding to 20 teams a week ago, before he knew the details? Wouldn’t have been smarter to just shut up until he knew the course they were going to take? This guy is a walking random quote machine.

Cooper obviously needs more investors from what he said at the press conference today. When he has it, he’s in. I’m pulling for you guys.

I think Cooper should go to the ownership of the Wizards and make an offer today and have them move to ST. Louis. Things aren’t that great on getting there soccer only stadium. TIF Bonds haven’t even been sold yet.

I agree, matt. Approach the KC owners and tell them he and the investors he has will buy the club and that they can keep a minority financial interest in the organization. Name the club Missouri United and play in Fenton. Just that easy, right?

The MLS is nothing but a garage league run by an lying idiot. You can not believe a word that comes out of Don Garber’s mouth. With him in charge, the league is doomed to be a horrible failure. We need to move on and get a USL team!!!
