MLS news: Houston acquires Mexican forward — check out the goal
St. Louis Post-Dispatch
We take a break from our WPS postings for some non-expansion MLS news. Houston has signed its first designated player, 24-year-old forward Luis Angel Landin. He’s the second youngest player with Mexican national team experience to sign with MLS, and my old pal Scott French opines that the move now makes Houston the favorite to win the MLS Cup.
It also allows me to link to this goal Landin scored in April. It’s so stunning even he is shocked by it. The best view of it comes on one of the later replays after play has resumed. (Equally stunned is the goalie, who though the ball goes about 2 feet away from him, never even moves.)
