Ralston wins MLS Fair Play Award
St. Louis Post-Dispatch
Our Town’s Steve Ralston won the MLS Fair Play Award for sportsmanship. It’s the third time he’s won the honor, but the first since 2000. (Along the way, Brian McBride won the Fair Play Award in 2003, meaning players with St. Louis connections have won the award four of the 13 times it’s been given out. Ralston committed just four fouls and got two yellow cards in 1,543 minutes this season before going out with an injury.
Zach Thornton of Chivas was named the league’s goalkeeper of the year.
