Bid to win two special Thanksgiving dinner guests
PLYMOUTH, Mass. - Got room for two more people at your Thanksgiving table?
Plimoth Plantation is auctioning off a Thanksgiving Day appearance in your home by a native Wampanoag man and a colonial English pilgrim, in costume and in character, to join your family for the holiday meal.
The offer is up for bidding on eBay as “Guess Who’s Coming To Dinner?” (Search for “Plimoth Plantation” and “Guess” )
Plimoth Plantation spokeswoman Jennifer Monac says bidding ends Friday, Oct. 11. The top bid so far is $5,000.
The winner must also pay for round-trip transportation and a two-night hotel stay for the interpreters.
The winner may choose to have the interpreters attend an event other than a family dinner, such as an event for a company or organization.
Plimoth Plantation is a living history attraction with a settlers’ village that recreates everyday life among the Pilgrims in 1627.

They’ve got to be kidding - pay money to add two strangers to my Thanksgiving dinner, plus pay their transportation and lodging, all for the sake of “authenticity?” Who ever makes the winning bid must have more money than sense!

Maybe they could bring some side dishes to help defray costs. You’re right - it is a bit pricey for the sake of authenticity.
