Eagle Days returns to two spot at Lake of the Ozarks, Jan. 3-4
Eagle Days will be held Jan. 3-4 at Lake of the Ozarks, giving visitors the chance to see bald eagles in their natural river and lake habitats.
Eagle Days will take place at Willmore Lodge and Osage National Golf Resort. Hours for the free event will be 9 a.m. to 4 pm. on Jan. 3 (Saturday), and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Jan. 4 (Sunday).
At Willmore Lodge, the high-power scopes on the outer deck will be available for viewing eagles lakeside. Eagle-themed craft projects will give kids the chance to learn about their nesting and migration habits. Naturalists will be on hand to demonstrate how the eagles build their huge nests.
At Osage National, visitors will get to see eagles in their Osage River habitat, as well as up close in the Pavilion Room, along with other birds of prey from the World Bird Sanctuary in St. Louis. Naturalists will also be on hand here to answer questions.
The 11th annual event is sponsored by the Lake Area Chamber of Commerce, the Missouri Dept. of Conservation’s Runge Nature Center in Jefferson City and the Missouri Dept. of Natural Resources.
