Birmingham, Ala. - Southern Living magazine asked readers to name their favorite destinations in the South to vacation, eat, shop and more. It’s all in the January issue.

For the sixth consecutive year, Charleston is named “Best City.” Beaufort, S.C. takes top honors as “Best Small Town.” Readers chose Atlanta’s Buckhead as the best neighborhood for shopping followed by King Street in Charleston and Magazine Street in New Orleans. The Big Easy took top honors for food. Brennan’s and The Court of Two Sisters are chosen as best restaurant for breakfast/brunch and Commander’s Palace most splurge worthy. Paula Deen’s The Lady and Sons is readers’ “Southern Favorite” restaurant.
