Why go out of town when there is a great party right here in St. Louis? I’ve been going for almost 10 years and always have a great time. Just hoping the weather will be as nice as it was last year and it will be perfect!

as nice as last year? wasn’t it all snowy and muddy last year? i understand why people would go out of town for mardi gras. it would be neat to experience one in n’orleans one of these years. the RFT recently ran an article about mardi gras, inc. (the corporation who throws the official MG party) threatening to take the celebration out of soulard. something about a dispute between bar owners, and MGINC forcing them to advertise certain liquors. despite the outcome, i WILL be in SOULARD this year. i don’t particularly care where MGINC tries to move the party, soulard is the place to be for me!

The weather was terrible last year, but that didn’t keep us away! And we will be back in Soulard this year to do it again. I can’t wait!!

We live in Soulard as well. We’ll be importing people for the celebration.
"Hit the Road" gives you a chance to talk about where you're going, where you've been and the luggage that got lost along the way. Post-Dispatch travel writer Tom Uhlenbrock and travel editor Judy Evans blog about all things related to getting away.
