The Big Muddy Folk Festival is returning April 3-4 to Thespian Hall in Boonville, Mo.
The festival kicks off with a Friday concert. Performers include Bob Bovee and Gail Heil, Barton and Para, and the Juggernut Jug Band. A old-time dance at Turner Hall follows the concert.
According to Big Muddy Soundings, an online newsletter: “Workshop topics for Saturday will highlight the instrumental talent and song repertoire of our artists, such as guitar, fiddle, and old-time jam, and sessions of humorous, regional and topical songs and some close-up concerts.”
Saturday evening will feature Stephen Bennett, Lou and Peter Berryman, Squirrelheads & Gravy and the Chapmans.
Tickets are $20 per evening or $35 for the weekend and are available online. For more about Boonville, check out Sunday’s Explore section in the Post-Dispatch or online at STLtoday.com/travel.
