Should St. Louis be one of Travel & Leisure magazine’s top cities?
Travel and Leisure magazine has decided to rate 30 favorite American metropolitan areas this year, up from 25 in past surveys.
The editors have come up with a list of 10 contenders for the additional five positions. St. Louis is among them, along with Anchorage, Baltimore, Cleveland, Detroit, Houston, Kansas City, Memphis, Providence and Salt Lake City.

One of the most beautiful sights ever is St. Louis in the rear view mirrors.
It should only be on the list if the Travel Agency is marketing to Gangstas or the Toofless
If the criteria for selection is the most trash lying in the streets, then we win hands down. Of course there is that large softball diamond and parking lot next to the Stadium that’s sure to draw a number of out-of-towners.
I just voted, St. Louis wasn’t one of them.
Go to hell all of you.
I bet none of you have ever taken the time to explore our awesome city. You sound like a bunch of racist biggots. If you hate it so much, why don’t you be the change you want to see.
I voted for St. Louis because it IS one of America’s hidden awesome cities.
Fat azz county hoosiers.
Andy,
Wise up. I’ve lived in the city for 15 years I’ve been to every area in the city. It’s been better.

Andy:
Remember a smile iza frown turned upside down (the unemployment office told me that one when I lost my job a few years ago).
Now relax and go back to polishing the oversized spinner wheels on your Mitsubishi with the round bus sounding pipes.
St. Louis is a Missouri city and nothing more either to the country or the world.
If you get too close to it’s borders, you will fall off the edge of the Earth. Just ask any of the native born St. Louisan’s and they’ll verify that for you.
Most people like to visit places that have decent public transportation. The good people of this region didn’t think that was important.
Only if Travel and Leisure is 1. desperate, 2. changing their content to comedy, or 3. totally bonkers.
Cities more deserving IMO of being on the short list for the final five are: Savannah, Richmond, Wilmington, NC, Sacramento.
My wife and I own and operate a Greater St. Louis bed and breakfast in Alton, Illinois.
Guests are enchanted with all the things to see and do around the Greater St. Louis area.
Sometimes we can’see the forest for the trees and take for granted or don’t even realize the abundance of St. Louis area activities, attractions, and restaurants, festivals.
