Portland, Ore., Named Top Underrated City; Detroit Named the Dirtiest
TripAdvisor has released an American city survey, revealing opinions on the best and worst of major U.S. cities according to 3,400 respondents. St. Louis did not make the list, for good or bad.
The favorite U.S. cities were New York City, San Francisco and a tie between Chicago and Boston, in that order. The least favorite were Detroit, Los Angeles and Atlanta.
Portland was the most underrated, while Las Vegas was the most overrated.
Las Vegas was the most economical, and New York City the most expensive.
Portland scored again as the cleanest, with Detroit said to be the dirtiest.
Miami was voted sexiest, and Cleveland most boring.
The healthiest was Seattle, the least healthy, poor Detroit, again.
New York City was voted both friendliest, and least friendy.
The best free attractions were in Washington, D.C., and the most romantic was Honolulu.
The nicest sounding accent was found in Altanta, with Bostononians voted the most annoying.
