I’ve ridden on Megabus to Chicago and it was a pleasant experience and extremely reasonably priced. There is no food or beverage service, so you need to take your own snacks and beverages. From St. Louis, they leave around Union Station.
I have ridden the Megabus from St. Louis to Chicago (and back) many times and it has always been a good experience. Clean buses and now improved with bathrooms, wi-fi and the double decker style. They always stop at least once at a gas station so you can use their restrooms if needed and stretch or get a snack. I highly recommend megabus! Such a good price too!
