St. Louis Ranked 43rd Among Most-Booked Domestic Destinations
Travel Leaders, a business and leisure travel company, has conducted a survey, based on actual bookings, and ranked cities according to popularity. St. Louis came in at 43rd.
The top 10 domestic destinations were, in order, Las Vegas, Orlando, Fla., New York City, Honolulu, Maui, Chicago, Washington, D.C., San Francisco, Los Angeles and Miami.
In international destinations, the top 10 were Caribbean cruises, Cancun and Riviera Maya in Mexico, European cruises, Rome, London, Montego Bay in Jamaica, Mexican cruises, Punta Cana in the Dominican Republic and Playa del Carmen in Mexico.
While 59.5 percent of Travel Leaders’ owners, managers and agents said they were optimistic for the remainder of 2009, 87.4 percent also indicated their clients were cutting back on some aspect of their travel.
Travel Leaders said leisure clients were saving money by staying at all-inclusives, using frequent flyers miles, being flexible with dates, booking only if there was a promotional deal and shorting trips.
