Both Teams Pressure, Neither Team Scores
The Canucks controlled the early action in the second period.
Kevin Bieksa tried to shovel a rebound into the empty net, but B.J. Crombeen got his puck there in time to deflect the shot over the net. Ryan Kesler put a couple of strong shots on goal.
The kid line generated pressure, with David Perron missing high on a tough-angle shot and Mike Weaver getting a good shot through from the blue line. The Blues didn’t score there, but T.J. Oshie drew a penalty and the Blues their first power play.
On it, Roberto Luongo stopped Alex Steen. The Blues had good puck movement with both units, but they failed to score — leaving them 1-for-8 on the power play in this series.
