Perron Ties Game!
Andy McDonald created the even-up opportunity by bursting in on right wing. Roberto Luongo gave up the weak-side rebound and David Perron raced in to poke the rebound home.
The Blues suddenly came to life. Scottrade came to life. The Note kept crashing the net, looking for scoring opportunities.
Luongo got dumped into the net during a goalmouth scramble — and this time the contact was real. The Blues came THIS close to taking the lead.
Had the play not been blown dead while the puck was loose, in fact, the Blues would have scored. As it was, the Blues and their fans were suddenly energized.
The Blues did not want the period to end. But end it did, with the score tied 2-2.
(BTW, Chris Mason had to be alert to stop a two-on-one Canucks counterattack with 20 seconds left.)
Rather than get a head start on their golfing plans at the break, the Blues focus on finishing strong and finally winning a playoff game.
