Sadly, Kariya Won’t Go

The Blues enjoy having him on the ice, but coach Andy Murray opted not to use him in Game 4 after such limited work.

“He’s looking pretty good,” former linemate Brad Boyes said. “I’ve been asking him when he’s going to play again.”

But . . .

“To throw him into a situation like this would be fair to him or the team,” Boyes said.

Hockey Guy wanted to see him just for the heck of it. Who knows, maybe he harness his excitement and score a goal or two. It’s not like he would taking the place of a productive player — plenty of guys took a step back in this series.

As for the rest of the guys, Boyes said: “In the second half of the season, we’ve been in this position. We’re not going to quit. We plan on winning this game, going back to Vancouver and taking it from there.

“We’re looking to play our game. But we have to make sure we do it.”

so what else do you play hockey for? down 0-3; blues lose and he’s gonna go another 5 months without playing hockey. i’m not sure i fathom the situation; probably details that aren’t known outside the organization.
