Blues Draft Power Forward Tyler Shattock

The big winger didn’t get drafted last year, after an injury-marred season, but he did get a long look from the San Jose Sharks. He impressed at a developmental camp, then did enough during the rookie camp to progress to the main training camp.

Shattock followed that favorable impression with a productive season for Kamloops in the WHL, so he ought to be ready to compete for pro work this season. It sounds like he could add a much-desired element to Peoria or Alaska this season. Toughness is not an issue with him.

Here is an interesting profile.

If this kid can improve his skating with some intensive work the next few years, he could become a candidate to move up.

Blues need productive power forwards - this is a pick worth taking.
