Intrigue Will Extend Beyond Draft
From the rumor mill:
- TSN reports that the Canucks are, in fact, still taking to agent J.P. Barry about Daniel and Henrik Sedin. Barry is seeking 12-year, $63 million deals for each of the them. So that drama continues.
- With John Tavares aboard, the Islanders could try to ride that momentum by making plays for the Sedin Twins or Vincent Lecavalier. So says HockeyBuzz, com.
- By the way, the Lecavalier talk is starting to heat up.
- The Panthers will try to sign free-agent-to-be Jordan Leopold. The team got his rights and a third-round pick from Calgary for the rights to Jay Bouwmeester.
- With the Flyers forced to shed payroll to make room for Chris Pronger, Simon Gagne could find himself in play. Gagne made a nice return from post-concussion syndrome, but there he still must be considered a big injury risk moving forward.
- HockeyBuzz has the Wild pushing a bit harder for Dany Heatley and the Canucks sniffing the Tomas Kaberle trail. Stay tuned . . .
