Blues Take Quick 1-0 Lead
Rolling four good lines, the Blues created pressure with their first shift and then kept after the Thrashers.
The Keith Tkachuk line struck first. On a tricky transition play, defnseman Barret Jackman threw a long outlet pass up to Brad Boyes in the neutral zone. Boyes deftly fed Tkachuk in stride and Keith had a two-on-one break.
Tkachuk didn’t fool around, He broke in on Atlanta goaltender Ondrej Pavelec and finished the rush himself, giving the Blues a quick 1-0 lead.
