these guys are sooooo over-rated in my opinion. I am really tired of these “new” country stars who are really nothing more than second rate pop stars “posing” as country-western entertainers.

It’s a shame that mega-talented stars (and TRUE country musicians) like Allison Krauss sell a fraction of the cds and concert tix than these pre-packaged celebrities do. Oh well-the average American has crappy taste in most of the arts anyway–otherwise who could explain the popularity of buffoons like Adam Sander, Dane Cook, Lindsay Lohan, and author James Patterson–ALL hacks in their respective fields.

Re:”really nothing more than second rate pop stars “posing” as country-western entertainers.”

While I agree with your statement 99 percent about country acts, Rascal Flatts really does have talent. The rest can fall in a hole and no one would care…

I went to the last Rascal Flatts show at Savvis Center. My ex bought the tix and I wasn’t that thrilled about going. But…I have to say, I was entertained that night. Their stage was one of the coolest i’ve seen. Not the most skilled musicians i’ve seen, but they were all very good as a band and were talented. Alot of their songs sound like anthems, though. They are band put together to sell to alot of cds and merchandise, and appeal to mainstream America….who like their pre-packaged, easy to digest music. But, all and all, still an entertaining show worth seeing.

Support local bands and arts!
