Cook sticks a fork in other ‘Idol’ contestants, they’re done
Can anybody stop David Cook? He seems to be the only one displaying any originality on the show, and he has the singing chops, too. You would think the Blue Springs, Mo., singer would be at a disadvantage on Mariah Carey night but the opposite proved true.
Here is my take on the others:
Carly Smithson - Best voice. Seemed like an early favorite, but she can’t seem to pick the right song.
Kristy Lee Cook - Lucky she made it this far. Good song choices have kept her in the competition.
Brooke White - Talented and unique but needs to drop the aw-shucks persona.
Jason Castro - Dreadlocks must be popular. Can’t believe he is still in it, and the judges love him!
Syesha Mercado - Great voice but doesn’t stand out in the crowd.
David Archuleta - Another great voice, but the puppy dog’s age will keep him on the leash.
I’m predicting a Cook/Smithson showdown with Cook coming out on top.

It’s all a matter of taste. I can’t stand David Cook. Any time anyone is a “rocker”, all the critics say he/she is original, even if they sound like 50% of the other rockers out there. He is not original, just different than most Idol contestants, and I don’t think will sell as well as Archuleta.
Cook has original takes on the songs that he sings on the show. Archuleta has a smooth voice. I like him a lot, but don’t think he will win. But that doesn’t really matter. Look at Hudson or Daughtry. If they have real talent, they’ll be successful no matter where they land on the show.
David Cook is a genius with his arrangements (even if 2 of them weren’t his own) and has an awesome voice on top of it. Idol has proven that you don’t have to finish first to go on in the music business, David Archuleta will be picked up a record label, Kristy Lee will probably be picked up by a country label and Jason will probably go on in the business too (reminds me of Kenny Loggins with just his box guitar). I hope David Cook wins!
Don-maybe you should do your homework. David Cook’s solo album is #2 right now on amazon.com– one spot behind MARIAH CAREY. He is already selling tons of albums (rather downloads) & will continue to do so. He is genius when picking songs that suit his vocal style & brilliant when it comes to his own arrangements. Archuletta definitely has talent, but David Cook has MORE in his pinky finger than all the other contestants combined. You might as well get used to him because he will be around for a VERY. LONG. TIME. GO DAVID COOK!!!!!!!!!
Since they voted off Michael Johns, my next favorite is David Cook. I t hink he is very talented and I am glad someone from Missouri is finally in the finals. I think David Archuletta is too young to be voted the Idol.
I don’t understand why everyone likes David Cook so much. I think Syesha and Carly have much better voices.
I think all of the guys are very talented and the remainder of the girls need to go bye-bye.
I think Cook & Archuleta are contenders for the final two; that’s if America votes over the next few weeks and they don’t go the way of Daughtry or Michael Johns!!
David C. is the true talent America is looking for to win this contest.

I don’t understand why everyone likes that Mormon Archuletta so much. Sounds the same every week. Ballads, Disney, religion is all that comes to mind. He doesn’t have a vocal range at all and he is BORING. He will never get radio play on pop stations.
David Cook is the entire package. This show is looking for a Pop star. Someone who will get radio play, and sell records. David’s voice can go from soft to rough to hitting notes I didn’t think were possible. He is awesome.
His pre-idol CD Analog Heart is #1 on Amazon and he is the #1 BEST ARTIST and the media loves him.
I hope there will be a Carly/Cook finale too. They are the one ones that can hit the high notes. Also, they both sounded and looked good on Idols Gives Back singing solo.
yeahh i love david cook . . . &&fer the girl below me, HE IS ORIGINAL ! hes smokin hot&&he has a better voice then “ARCHIE” over there, even thiu i like him2, but i love my cookie=)
