Free project-building workshops for kids
This weekend would be a good time to take a break from remodeling the bathroom and bond with your little contractor-to-be. After all, one day he or she will grow up and be expected to tackle that honey-do list of home projects.
Drop by any Home Deport from 9 a.m. until noon this Saturday for the next Kids Workshop. Once a month, the stores hold a session that allows kids to build something. This month, it’s a catamaran (just in case their future spouse needs one).
The sessions are free, including all the materials and equipment.
Of course, the idea is to get the wallet-bearing parents in the store on a Saturday morning — project day. And darn it, last time I spent $30 before making out the front door.
