News leaked out last week that Sean Penn will play Larry in an upcoming “Three Stooges” film. The AP story also said Jim Carrey was in negotiations for the role of Curly, and Benicio Del Toro might play Moe.

before voting, please clarify–is the proposed film an actual RE-MAKE similar to movies like Charlie’s Angels and Dukes of hazzard–or is it more of a BIO about the actors who played the roles?

Sorry–I just can’t imagine actors like Penn and Del Toro doing a slap-sticky movie that appeals to Adam Sandler fans…Carrey of course will do anything to make a $$$.

I don’t much care for the old stooges and I doubt the new ones would do much for me, although Jim Carrey might lure me in…

The Farrelly brothers are directing it so I would guess remake over bio.

I think that the Stooges remake would be a hoot.

Is Hollywood completely out of original ideas? How many more of these ridiculous remakes are we going to have forced upon us? I have even read stories that “The Wizard Of Oz” will be re-made! Come on writers get cracking!!!

A different set of actors would have to portray the Stooges before I would watch the film. I cannot imagine Jim Carey as Curly.

Something tells me these guys can pull it off, especially Carrey as Curly. Bring it on numb-skulls.

They keep trying to copy the originals and they fail. The Howard Brothers and Fine are the best and will never be bested!

Knuckleheads! Don’t mess with the stooges. Those morons in Hollywood couldn’t pull it off if they dug up the real stooges and re-animated them. What numbskulls!
