Keep Kathy Griffin in line by suggesting a joke
St. Louis Post-Dispatch
Controversial comedian Kathy Griffin is a coming to the Fox on July 11. She notoriously joked about her 2007 Emmy award and offended many people in the process.
Let’s help her in her visit to St. Louis.
High Schools? Toasted Ravioli? What’s off limits in Arch City? Suggest a one-line joke about St. Louis for an upcoming issue of Bird’s Eye View, seen on Sunday in the Community section. We’ll print our favorites — if they don’t cross the line.

Welcome to the media circus. I'm Charles Williams, online entertainment editor and operator of this ride.
Honestly, I think Kathy Griffin is a one-line joke. She’s offensive, ignorant, and really not even funny.
Kathy’s humor is an acquired taste, for sure. Her irreverent send-ups of celebrities and politicians seldom fail to crack me up. As far as what’s off-limits, well, by pointing it out to her, she’s sure to go right there. For me, I’d love to hear her take on Missouri’s own Brad Pitt!
She should go into a turret’s like explicative of, “What high school did you go to?” But just keep doing it over and over and totally random times in the show
I totally agree with MommaBear. Saw her live in LA once, and many times on TV and Cable. She rides on the back of others and has become exactly what she makes fun of. . .a hollywood phony, a serial plastic surgery patient and a complete obnoxious, unintelligent, riduculously shallow and galactically un-funny “celebrity”. St. Louis and the Post Dispatch should quit trying to kiss her backside, maybe if we stop now she will cancel or at least never come back.
OK, here’s the infamous Tina Turner joke from last fall, as Hurricane Ike slammed into Houston: “Go Away, Ike - Tina ain’t here!”
Kathy is HILARIOUS!! I love her take on the celebrity of herself and others. The Emmy Award joke was the best award speech that I can remember. If you do believe in God, we are taught that He created us in His image. People have senses of humor, so I am betting that if there is a God, he thought that the Emmy joke was funny as well. Lighten up people!!
Q) What is the difference between the St Louis Rams and the Taliban
A) The Taliban has a running game
so, bluzfan-how’s the weather where you live? The nurses being good to you? are you taking all your meds?
If you don’t like her then don’t watch or comment. Seriously folks. I think she’s hilarious. I agree with the Brad Pitt thing. I loved the episode when she came here last season. Very funny!
I saw Kathy at here sold out show at The Fox a couple years ago and she was hillarious.
While I don’t find her schtick of channeling Don Rickles very funny, I do have to admit I can’t understand how such a “plain” girl is so sexy and appealing.
You bet I would!
She’s a talentless hack and really quite pathetic in every facet of life.
Q: How many Missouri Republicans does it take to screw in a light bulb?
A: None, they only screw the poor.
Q: How many St. Louis Aldermen does it take to change a lightbulb?
A: What does my ward get out of changing this?
Kathy Griffin is hilarious. She doesn’t need any ideas on what is funny. If you’re easily offended or feel the need to protect some of the celebrities she jokes about, don’t listen - or lighten up.
Q: What’s the difference between a Clayton lawyer and an angry rhinoceros?
A: The Clayton lawyer charges more.
Nothing is off limits. I loved her joke at the Emmy’s. If you don’t like her don’t go. She is very funny. I am not saying you are crazy if you don’t like her. If we all like Coke there would be no Pepsi.
Here’s a thought, if you find her humor offensive or just not funny, don’t attend the show!
How about “what the EFF is up with allergies in this city? I haven’t seen a mold count this high since Courtney Love’s Ob/Gyn took a pap smear.”
Here’s one for Tom…
You know your Tour Manager’s from Fenton because he had sex ed. and drivers ed. in the same car!
I love Kathy Griffin!
But she doesn’t really tell jokes. She is more of a storyteller. Now maybe her stories ain’t for everyone, but I don’t think there is any person in the field of comedy that everyone loves, enjoys or appreciates.
