Last weekend, guerilla filmmakers fanned out across the metro area for the annual 48 Hour Film Project. An astonishing 72 teams competed in the contest, which gives them two days to complete a seven-minute film in a randomly assigned genre that must include a specified prop, character and line of dialogue. (This year’s prop was a magnet; the character was E. Frickle, chairman of the board; and the line of dialogue was “I’ve been there—you don’t wanna go.”)
A panel of judges selected the best of the 72 entries in several categories, and those films will be screened at the Tivoli on Tuesday, June 17, at 7:00 p.m. Admission is $7.
The grand prize winner from St., Louis will compete in the international finals and be released on DVD. For more information on the 48 Hour Film Project, visit www.48hourfilm.com.
