Parkway Students’ Film Festival, Thurs. evening at Maryville U.
St. Louis Post-Dispatch
Back when I was making movies at Parkway West, video machines were a novelty kept under lock and key, and the only film camera that kids could afford were 8mm. A few decades later, teenagers can make movies on $100 video cameras and immediately post them on something called the Internet.
On Thursday evening at 6 p.m., the Parkay School District will showcase the best of its students’ digital videos in a free film festival in the Maryville University Auditorium (off I-64 at the Maryville Centre exit). More than 150 short videos were submitted, and 50 made the cut, in categories that include animation, documentaries, public service announcements, podcasts and narratives.
