When my previous blog posting mentioned concession-stand prices at the multiplex, it incited a heated discussion. Now for some good news. Starting June 17, three local AMC theaters–the Crestwood Plaza, Creve Coeur and Chesterfield Mall–will be charging one measly buck for admission to selected family flicks on Wednesday mornings. There are also discounted concessions. All screenings in the AMC Summer Movie Camp start at 10 a.m.  Here is the complete schedule of the movies:

June 17: Space Chimps (G)
June 24: Kung Fu Panda (PG)
July 1: Madagascar Escape 2 (PG)
July 8: Tale of Despereaux (G)
July 15: Horton Hears a Who (G)
July 22: The Spiderwick Chronicles (PG)
July 29: Nim’s Island (PG)
Aug. 5: Star Wars: The Clone Wars (PG)

Tickets sales benefit Variety–The Children’s Charity and the Will Rogers Institute. For more information, visit AMC online.
