Saturday at the Family Arena: “MST3K” spinoff Cinematic Titanic
If you missed “Mystery Science Theater 3000″ creator joel Hodgson at the Tivoli last night, when he led a panel discussion with “MST3K” alums Trace Beaulieu, Frank Conniff, Mary Jo Pehl and J. Elvis Weinstein, their new movie-spoofing combo Cimematic Titanic will be desconstructing a giant-insect movie tonight (Saturday, Nov. 21) at 7:30 p.m. at the Family Arena in St. Charles. Tickets are avaialble through Metrotix.
Here’s a taste of the troupe that one perceptive wag dubbed “the Led Zeppelin of movie riffers”:
(A highlight of last night’s panel discussion: Hodgson said his favorite “MST3K” movie was the teen-rebellion potboiler “I Accuse My Parents.” But he added that the horor flick “Manos: Hands of Fate,” sometimes called the worst movie ever made, “bleached my soul.”)

Someone bring back MST3K! SyFy, Comedy Central, Ha! I don’t care. If I have to buy another VHS to DVD burned copy on the internet I’m going to take a knitting needle to my eyes. Thanks for making me yell “Omar!” every time I see Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin.
