New races fill late winter calendar
St. Louisans look forward to the St. Patrick’s Day Run, scheduled for March 15, and the Go! St. Louis races, April 5 and 6. The events combine to attract more than 20,000 runners.
But for those who can’t wait, we offer four options, some of which are new to the area calendar:
Feb. 9: The final race in the track club’s Frostbite Series includes a 15K and 3-mile race at 9 a.m. in Forest Park. Entry fee is $7 per race.
Feb. 16: Ghisallo Running is hosting its debut race, the Frosty Five Mile, at 8 a.m. The race starts and ends at the store, 606 North and South Road in University City. Entry fee is $15 by Feb. 9, $20 thereafter.
Feb. 23: Big River Running is sponsoring Mud n Gutz at 10 a.m. at Jefferson Barracks. The event will feature a 4K and 8K, and adult cross country challenge, live music and a mud pit. Entry fee is $25 before Feb. 14. Proceeds benefit the Adam McGee Scholarship fund, which you can read more about here.
March 9: Toolen’s Running Start will sponsor the Top of the Morning 5K run and walk at 8:30 at the store, 3220 Greenmount Crossing Drive in Shiloh, Ill. Entry is $15 by March 3. Proceeds benefit the American Order of Hibernians charities.
