Fast and smart at Wash.U. and SIU Carbondale

St. Louis Post-Dispatch

The men’s and women’s cross country teams at Washington University and Southern Illinois University Carbondale were honored this week for being swift afoot and swift of thought.

The U.S. Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association honored both schools as All-Academic Cross Country teams. To qualify, teams must register a team score in the NCAA regionals and have a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0.

The Washington University men placed fourth in the Division III Midwest regional, while the women finished third in the NCAA Championships.

The Saluki men finished seventh in the Division I Midwest regional and have a 3.39 cumulative GPA. The women placed 23rd at the regional and have a team GPA of 3.57.

We’ve always considered runners to be overachievers. This news just adds fuel to the fire.
