St. Louisan Sarah Haskins finished first in the inaugural Miami International Triathlon over the weekend. She finished nearly two minutes ahead Australian Pip Taylor, taking first in 1 hour, 58 minutes, 12 seconds.
Haskins was the first woman out of the water after the 1.5 K swim and the first off the bike after the 40K ride. She had built a lead of nearly two minutes at the start of the 10K run, which she maintained to the finish. Haskins is considered a favorite to qualify for the Olympic team at the end of April. Her performance Sunday only solidified her position.
