180 Energy Runners take River to River Run
Kathleen Nelson
St. Louis Post-Dispatch

The 180 Energy Runners took first place in the River to River Relay, an 80-mile race in Southern Illinois on Sunday, in 6 hours, 58 minutes, 49 seconds. Congrats to Justin Wieduwilt, Sam Youst, Zac Freudenburg, Andy Derks, Bryan Glass, Jeff Kelly, Rick Lee Barnes and Jackson Johnson.

Freudenburg, by the way, is one of the favorites this weekend in the World Mountain Marathon Championships in England.

In second was Under Par, which 180 team captain Jeff Bockhorn reports was wearing the colors of Big River Running, in 7:06:28.
The race starts on a bluff overlooking the Mississippi River Valley and follows roads, most of them paved, through the Shawnee National Forest to Golconda, Ill., on the banks of the Ohio River.
The race is unlike any other in the area. Each team has eight runners. Each runner completes three course sections, ranging from 2.5 to 4 miles.
