Schutzman Festival raises $8,000; video highlights

St. Louis Post-Dispatch

Good news: the Brigette Schutzman Festival of Miles on April 28 raised about $8,000 to help pay medical bills for Brigette, a runner at St. Louis University who suffered brain injuries in a car crash. The festival gave Brigette a chance to thank friends, teammates and supporters, as she traveled from her parent’s home in Indianapolis to her adopted family here. Though the night was too windy and cold for the elite runners to break the 4-minute barrier, the races were a success.

Take a look at the videos of each of the races.

The junior high and wheelchair races were, in their own way, as exciting and interesting as the elite, womens and masters races. It is not often we get to watch all these races in one place and see the amazing up-and-coming athletes developing their skills. It was a special and inspiring evening.

The event lived up to its billing as a festival of miles. Inspiring and celebratory.
