Youth and family track meets from Go!
Kathleen Nelson
St. Louis Post-Dispatch

Expecting the kids to have some extra energy that needs burning off this summer? Go! St. Louis has a suggestion that could help you burn off some extra calories as well. GO!, the groups that brings you the Family Fitness Weekend in April, is sponsoring the Youth & Family Track Meet Series.
Whose eligible? Students in kindergarten through eighth grades and their families. Each week, participants will learn about a different group of events that make up a track meet: sprint, middle distance, field and relay events.
The series will be held at 5:30 p.m. June 10, 17, 24 and July 1, 8 and 15 at Parkway North High School. The series costs $12 and includes a T-shirt and refreshments.
Parents and family members are encouraged to sign up and compete with other adults in the events, or just walk the track as their children participate. The events will be timed and measured, but the results are for intividual use only. No winners. No losers. Just athletes measuring progress against themselves.
