At the top was Mathew Chesang, who has won the last two Go! half-marathons. Chesang’s time Saturday was 1 hour, 6 minutes, 28 seconds. Brian Lyons, winner of the St. Pat’s 5-mile and University City Memorial Day 10K, was fourth in 1:10:33. Karl Gilpin, record holder in the Go! marathon, was fifth in 1:11:29. Brian Whitehead rounded out the top 10 in 1:15:52.
Jessica Flinn led the St. Louis women’s contingent, finishing third in 1:24:04, six minutes behind winner Carolyn Rotich. Julie Lossos finished fourth in 1:27:04. Other area women in the top 10 were Kris Pierce, sixth in1:32:15, Eliza Davis, seventh in 1:32:21; Julie Bergfeld, ninth in 1:33:11; and Julie Bokerman in 10th, 1:34:32.
This bunch has laid down a challenge for our brethren on the west side of the state. Nice job.
