Ex-Chaminade XC runner Matt Plummer sets world skating record - BACKWARDS

Former cross country runner Matt Plummer, a graduate of Chaminade, traded his spikes for skates and has moved to the Olympic training center in Salt Lake City. Still, I think the running community here would greet his accomplishment with open arms. Plummer recently set the world record for the 500 meter backwards skate.  He is the first and only person to break the 50-second barrier, finishing in 49.7 seconds.

Nice job.

Unusual. Entertaining. I wonder home many times he’s fallen in training. Thanks for posting.
