St. Louis Track Club starts free marathon training sessions

We’ve been touting the numerous family running events, so, in the interest of balance, we offer news of a FREE training session for runners who have signed up for a fall marathon: Detroit, Chicago, New York, or any of the fine, smaller races.

The St. Louis Track Club will offer a free series of 16 weekly training runs beginning at 7 a.m. June 27 in Queeney Park. A couple catches. You must have a base fitness level that includes:

  • At least three runs a week
  • Minimum of 20 miles a week
  • Running at least 8 miles without walking.

One other thing: You must be a member of the St. Louis Track Club. The good news is that the club offers a six-month membership for just $15.

The group meets a different parks each week and often gathers for coffee and refueling after the run.  Here’s a flyer for more information.
