St. Louis triathlete Sarah Haskins finishes 9th at Hy-Vee, top American

St. Louis native Sarah Haskins finished ninth in the Hy-Vee Triathlon on Saturday in Des Moines, Iowa. Haskins’ time of 2 hours, 3 minutes, 26 seconds was more than 3 minutes behind winner Emma Moffat of Australia, who won in 1:59:46. Haskins, a graduate of Parkway South, was the fourth swimmer out of the water after the 1.5K (.9-mile) swim and was in the first group for the 40K (25-mile) bike ride. She lost time in the 10K (6.2-mile) run.

These races don’t make TV very often but if you find out that any of her races are televised, I’d definitely watch. I watched her in the Olympics. Go for it Sarah!
Unfortunately, the international triathlon union has a pay-per-view online deal worked out, so you can’t see too many of these races. If I find out that Universal Sports has picked up any of the events, I’ll post it.
