GO! St. Louis marathon, half-marathon get out of the blocks quickly
Registration for GO! St. Louis marathon and half-marathon is 40 percent ahead of last year’s record-breaking number of entries. The events are schheduled for April 10 and 11.
What a nice way to celebrate the orgainzation’s 10th anniversary. Back in 2000, the event attracted 2,500 participants but increased to more than 18,000 finishers this year for the seven events: marathon, half-marathon, marathon relay, 5K, Read, right and Run, Mature Mile and children’s fun runs.
Some of the increase could be because of new promotions: prize money for age -group winners and random registration bonuses of $100. GO! also extended its lower fees for early registration by a month and distributed more informational materials at races in Detroit, Indianapolis and Memphis.
