Jackie Joyner-Kersee serves as grand marshal for Girls on the Run

Jackie Joyner-Kersee will serve as grand marshal and honorary starter for the Girls on the Run 5K and one-mile run run, 8:30 a.m. November 14 in Forest Park.
Nearly 2,400 girls, ages 8 to 12, from 65 schools have trained for 10 weeks to complete the 3.1-mile run, learning about health and self-esteem while building their endurance. Learn more about the organization here.
The race benefits the GOTR scholarship fund, which allows more girls in the St. Louis region to participate in the Girls on the Run program.
Registration fees until Nov. 9 are $25 for adults, $15 for runners 12 and under, $60 per family. Register online or download a form.
