Golf bargain or not? You make the call
St. Louis Post-Dispatch
If you’re a LastMinute Golfer, you’ve probably got the word that Grand Marais Golf Club in Centreville, Ill., is giving away golf right now.
They’ve got twilight specials starting at noon every day of the week touting all the golf you can play for 25 bones or less. I’ve heard the course isn’t bad and if you live in St. Louis proper, it’s just a stone’s throw away.
Is this a deal or not? If you’ve played there let me know.

Assistant Business Editor Irvin Harrell is what you might call a "weekend warrior" when it comes to the game of golf. His mantra: good courses, good prices and good times. And he's cool with sharing good info on the local golf scene.
We all have different standards and definitions of value…Go play it! What’s the worst that could happen? You’re still playing golf!
Nice long course. Well established - very shady, with large oak trees. I recommend it. Only problem is the greens have something happening wherein the golf balls have trouble finding them. I think all of these courses have that defect.
Agreed Steve, JR. At worst, I could find myself playing golf for as long as there’s light for a very small fee.
You do NOT want to play at this place. Hobos on the course do not make good first impressions.
The course is wide open, a good place to work on your game. The greens are good shape. The 13th hole is one of the most unique par 5’s in the area, each shot is critically important.
